Tim Bostock Productions was formed in 1999, and has since carved a niche position in the state, bringing the best performing arts from around the world to Hawaii. As the “leading presenter of avant-garde and off-Broadway” Tim Bostock, a native of Oxford in England, was profiled in the Honolulu Advertiser as one of 12 people to watch in the New Year 2002, for “his own wickedly inspired promotional style.”
TBP succeeds commercially while developing a trail-blazing program of international music and theatre that is risky and fresh. The productions range from small to large, utilizing venues all over the state. A favorite small scale venue is The ARTS at Marks Garage in downtown Honolulu – Tim Bostock is a founding member. For larger productions, the Blaisdell Concert Hall and the Hawaii Theatre are the main venues, and the Arts District provides the site for multi-stage street arts festivals that have contributed to the resurgence of the area. International theatre, dance and music productions presented by TBP often tour to the outer islands.
TBP has co-produced with the University of Hawaii Outreach College, has produced Hawaii Tourism Authority’s Hawaii Arts Season, has presented a series of Hawaiian Music Nights at the Hawaii Convention Center, and a series of outdoor concerts at the Hawaii State Art Museum called Live from the Lawn. In 2010 TBP produced the Bishop Museum Moonlight Mele on the Lawn concerts at Bishop Museum.
TBP is a partner at the ARTS at Marks Garage, and a member of the Arts District Merchants Association of Honolulu, the Performing Arts Presenters of Honolulu, the Chinatown Community Association, the U.S. Association of Performing Arts Presenters and Arts with Aloha.
Tim Bostock is also Business Director of the ARTS at Marks Garage, and has been a Board Member of non-profit Honolulu Theatre for Youth for the past 9 years, holding the Presidency for 6 of those years.
